The Journey

How it works

Pre-instruction discussion if required

We are always happy to discuss and gain an understanding of the report required and ensure that we meet the needs for the Court report in the best possible way.

Allocation of best placed Expert

We assess each instruction and where necessary or if a particular Expert has not been requested, we will work to ensure that the team member with the expertise to best assist on the case is allocated.

Conflict of interest check

Our administration team will discuss details of the case to ensure that the Experts have not been involved clinically with the client or have any other conflicts which may affect their ability to provide an independent opinion.

Acceptance of instruction

We will then proceed to formally accept the instruction - getting to this stage is usually a quick process and can be done in a day if required and the information is available.

Receiving documents and planning

Once the documentation is received - this includes the formal letter of instruction if not already received and early documentation available, planning will take place for the assessment.

Assessment booked and completed

The assessment will be confirmed and if any information is required regarding the visit, this will be given. Presently, information regarding which mode of assessment will be done is also completed. The assessment will be completed.

Report written and checked to finalise

Once the assessment is completed, the report will be written with a review of all evidence in the case. All reports are checked and proof read to finalise them.

Report sent to Solicitors

The report will then be sent to the instructing Solicitors firm by the preferred method.

Consideration of amendments where requested

Where necessary, we will work alongside the legal team to provide further clarity to our recommendations. If there is additional evidence provided after the time of our report, this will be considered also and if amendments are required the report can be updated.

Proceed to Counsel meeting, Part 35 questions, joint conference, joint statement, trial preparation and trial as required.

We will continue to support with our role as an Expert Witness in the case as required through the journey.
